Power Protection Programme for your home power station.
Home power systems Generator Maintenance Contract (GMC)
Contractual period 36 months with 5 dry and 1 wet visits each of a minimum of 3 man hours. Power verification load bank test for 2 or 6 hours is optional but recommended every 36 months.
Lubrication Check lube oil filter(s) and all connectors
ensuring no leaks.
Clean breathers (Change oil, filter and bypass filter as applicable, (250
hours or every 12 months) Check low oil level protection switch for correct
operation.
Fuel Systems Drain water from the fuel system.
Check fuel filter(s).
Check all fuel connection.
Clean lift pump strainer, check throttle and governor linkages for free
movement.
Change fuel filter(s) every 250 hours or 36 months.
Air Systems Check air filter restriction.
Check vent piping and connections.
Inspect turbocharger and oil drain.
Replace air filter as required but no longer than 36 months.
Check transition ducting.
Check air flap and solenoid (if fitted).
Cooling System Check and adjust fan belts (replace
where necessary)
Check antifreeze and / or inhibitor, top up as as necessary. (Replace every
36 months)
Check remote fans and pumps (if applicable)
Check radiator core and tanks.
Check low coolant protection switch.
Heater. Check hose connections and electrical operation.
Valves Check and if necessary adjust tip clearances.
DC/AC Check and adjust battery charging, check alternator
belt(s).
Check charge rate of battery and state of cells.
Check all electrical connections.
Visual inspection of windings for any ingress of foreign matter.
Check lugs and terminals, grease as required.
Check alternator air gap.
Check contactor panel and lamps.
Control: Systems Check control system and PCB status.
Exhaust: Visual check of exhaust fumes on and off load.
Check operation of the following :-
Simulate mains failure to ensure correct starting,
recording time taken to start
Continue to operate in a 'no load' condition and record operating temperatures,
pressures, frequency and voltage. If permitted transfer to customer load
and record current across all phase. Continue on load test for a minimum
of 1 hour recording every 15 minutes. Carry out visual inspection looking
for leaks and exhaust condition..
Report. Prepare detailing all test data, consumables and recommendations.

General conditions for the Power Protection Programme and Emergency Cover Contract for industrial and home generator systems.
The above Power Protection Programme is a generic outline allowing Jen-Serv
Ltd to vary contents and visiting hours to suit individual power
systems engineering.
An agreed schedule of work will be under taken during normal working hours unless specific.(Weekend or out of office hours by special arrangement)
Reasonable access must be provided by the customer to facilitate the supply and removal of bulk items (i.e. engine oil or coolant).
This contract does not provide for the replacement of consumable items issued during servicing. I.e. Fuel & lubricating oils, air, oil and air filters. These will be charged at cost.
All warranties and guarantees will be null and void in the event of abuse or misuse of the equipment.
During routine servicing the end user will be expected to make available the personnel responsible for the operation of the equipment for short periods to ensure correct operation of the equipment and correct diagnostic assistance in the event of a fault.
Jen-Serv Ltd will not be held liable for any consequential damages relating to the failure of the equipment in question and/or not responding to a call out within the specified time (ECC).
In the event of an abortive visit taking place at the request of the customer, cost relating to that visit will be charged to the customer at the standard rate prevailing at that time.
The terms and conditions of the contract are not enforceable against Jen-Serv Ltd, if the purchaser has defaulted on any payment for the purchase of equipment, parts or servicing relating to the generating set for which this contract has been placed.
Jen-Serv Ltd guarantee to refund total labour
cost relating to emergency cover in the event of being unable to respond
to an emergency callout within 16 hours of notification (ECC).
When contracted to cover emergency standby generators, Use of that generator is restricted to a maximum of 700 hours over a 3 year prorata. If hours run over the prorata norm then additional visits will be chargeable.
A recommended spares kit must be purchased and retained on site with the generating set (ECC).
Jen-Serv Ltd will not provide consumables required during testing.
Drawings and manuals must be retained on site and made available to our visiting engineer.
